The Nursing of Children Network, or NCN, was established in 1990 as a networking organization for pediatric nurses in the Delaware Valley region. In 1994 NCN joined the national organization SPN-Society of Pediatric Nurses—as the local chapter. In addition to networking opportunities, NCN offers educational programs, pediatric health care projects, and an informative newsletter.

Irwin J. Sheiner, RN Named Cambridge Who's Who Top Industry Expert
in Ground Critical Care Ambulance Transport, Emergency, and Critical Care Nursing

WHITING, NJ, January 28, 2009, Irwin J. Sheiner, Registered Nurse Certified, BS, CCEMTP, PNCCT, EMT-B for Irwin JRN, has been named Cambridge Who’s Who Professional of the Year in Ground Critical Care Ambulance Transport and Top Industry Expert in Ground Critical Care Ambulance Transport, Emergency, and Critical Care Nursing. While inclusion in Cambridge Who’s Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named the Cambridge Who’s Who Professional of the Year and only one individual is selected as Cambridge's Top Industry Expert. The Cambridge Who’s Who selection committee hand picks these special honorees based on their accomplishments, academic achievement, leadership and service.Sheiner has 30 years of experience in emergency medical services. In addition, he spent 16 years working in critical care, emergency room nursing, trauma, critical care transport, pediatrics and neurological intensive care.

Sheiner received national certification in pediatric and neonatal critical care transport from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 2004 and national certification in critical care transport from Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, Michigan in 2002. Sheiner received his registered nurse diploma from Englewood Hospital School of Nursing in New Jersey in 1992 and completed the medical lab technician program at Bergen Community College in New Jersey in 1990. After receiving a bachelor of science in management and accounting from Ithaca College in New York in 1979, Sheiner completed post-graduate work in accounting at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey in 1981.

Sheiner is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Society of Cardiology Professionals, the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, the American Nurses Credentialing Center, the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, the Emergency Nurses Association, the Air and Surface Transport Nurses Association, the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians, the Infusion Nurses Society, the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses, the Society of Pediatric Nurses, the Florida Neonatal/Pediatric Transport Network Association and the Trauma Nursing Society. Sheiner is on the board of directors of the Society of Pediatric Nursing and acts as a subject matter advisor for the Air and Surface Transport Nurses Association.
